Capital  Military Assistance Command (C.M.A.C.)

'We just about lost Saigon and the country in TET of 1968. It wasn't military genius that saved us, it was the grace of God. So gentlemen we yet another TET approaching and I'm not going to let the city fall under my command!' Paraphrased from a speech given to the C.M.A.C. staff in preparation for TET 1970 by BG Gerrard.  He then provided examples of what he meant by the Grace of God and it was true.

I arrived at C.M.A.C in March of 1969, just after TET. The city was still unsettled by the frequent sapper attacks, rockets, executions, etc. The year was much the same until I left.
